Ingredients For Lavender Bath Melts

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix baking soda, and Epsom salt until well combined. Take another bowl and mix glycerine and a pinch of levender dried flowers and mix them well. ( You can also use levender essential oil if you want to).
  • Slowly add the gylycerin and levender mix into the dry mix while stirring. It may fizz — add just a little at a time. Lightly mist the mixture with water using a spray bottle. It should clump when pressed (like damp sand).
    • PS- If you are using your hands, you may want to have some water to press the mix.
  • Quickly press the mixture into silicone molds and let them sit overnight to harden. I left mine for around 24 hours to harden and ready to use.
  • Pop them out and store in a jar and enjoy your lovely bath melts!

Tips For Using Lavender Bath Melts

I recommend that you store these in air tight jar/cotainer if you want to increase their shhelf life intead of a plastic bag as plastic bag can trap moisture or allow humidity to sneak in.

Lavender Bath Melts FAQs

1. Can I make this without essential oils?
Yes! Essential oils are optional. I haven’t used essential oil in my recipe.

2. What kind of flowers should I use?
Lavender, rose, and chamomile work best. Make sure they’re fully dried so the bath melts doesn’t get too moist or moldy.

3. I don’t have a spray bottle. What should I do?
You can sprinkle water in slowly using a spoon or your fingers. Do not pour the water at once.

4. Can I skip glycerin?
Yes, but it helps hold moisture and gives the bath melts a softer feel on your skin. If you skip it, you may need to mist a little extra water to help the mix bind.

5. How long do these bath melts last?
Store them in a dry jar or container. They stay good for about 2–3 months, depending on humidity.

6. Can I use them in a bucket or foot soak?
Definitely! You can drop one in warm water for a relaxing foot soak if you don’t feel like doing a full bath.

7. The mix keeps puffing up — what am I doing wrong?
That usually means there’s too much water. Add it very slowly and only until the mixture holds together when you press it.
