There’s something special about curling up with a warm drink, wrapping yourself in a soft blanket, reading a book of your favorite genre. Who wouldn’t love that, right?
That is why I am here to share some benefits of cozy reading as self care that will make you want to do it this year even more.
Fall isn’t just about pumpkin spice everything (though we love that too!) – it’s about finding comfort in the quiet moments, appreciating and adapting to nature’s change, and creating a space where you can read, relax and unwind.

It’s About The Experience After All
It is not just about reading. Without experience, it will just be another task that you want to finish and won’t enjoy, so if you won’t enjoy it, what is the point of doing it anyway? we don’t want that, right. We want to read to gain knowledge and perspective while enjoying being in the present moment.
This space should be your go-to, comfortable and relaxing.
There are multiple ways to create your own cozy space. You can use dim lighting, maybe a candle or a warm lamp, which can also boost your mood. It can make reading feel more cozy and comfortable.
I would especially recommend this to people out there who have been working so hard that you are getting no time for yourself.
And you can’t go out on a vacation to relax yourself, this can be your perfect relaxation spot that you will look forward to spending time everyday.
That is worth the try this fall and winter season. Even If you don’t have big space ideas like this can help you create this nook in a small space too.
Relaxing Your Mind Gives You New Ideas
Not sure if you have ever noticed this but when I am super busy and sitting in front of my laptop for hours, I just feel like my mind is freezing and out of any new ideas. So maybe that is the reason when people take showers, they get new ideas because they are relaxed in that state.
If you are feeling exhausted, restless, tired, brain fog and out of ideas, I would suggest you to take a little walk and spend some time in your reading nook.
And see how fast those feelings change.
It’s a GREAT Way To Pause Screen Time Without Hard Trying
Most of us find it pretty challenging to not use our electronics, with a cozy and comfortable nook, it can be much easier to put your phone aside and spend some time reading.
Plus When reading becomes part of your cozy self-care routine, it might reduce the habit of reaching for your phone out of boredom. This shift helps build a routine where you look forward to taking breaks and enjoying a quiet, tech-free time in your favorite reading nook.
So that was some of the benefits of cozy reading as self care. I personally truly believe that reading is great but when you combine it with other feel-good things, you will get even more good experience. I love it and I hope you will too.
Just experiment and see what you can create.
